About
Geoffrey Gray, MA, PWS
(GG)

I am a professional wetland scientist/wildlife biologist with 28 years of experience in careers that have equipped me with a unique breadth of knowledge and skill sets to assist you with project delivery.
With an advanced academic portfolio, decades of field experience, and certified professional training, I have been continuously employed as a multifaceted wetland, fish, and wildlife biologist since 1997 while serving tenures in government-funded research, commercial consulting, two state transportation agencies, and 15 years as a freelance environmental consultant.
My resume includes 22 years of full-time duty as a wetland biologist, with experience honed from the unique vernal pool wetland habitats of California’s Central Valley to the diverse wetlands of Eastern and Western Washington State. I was globally certified as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) in 2019.
A resident of Yakima County since 2006, the eastern half of the state is my region of expertise where I have delivered hundreds of projects including over 190 wetland delineations, 38 wetland mitigation/riparian restoration sites, 600+ evaluations for compliance under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA), and 125 Section 7 ESA consultations.
My clients include salmon recovery organizations, private landowners, Yakama Nation, commercial industry, developers, construction contractors, real estate agents, local governments, as well as state agencies.
A professional-level GPS/GIS user for 28 years, I employ advanced GPS technology in the field and am skilled in using GIS software to produce project maps and illustrations.
