I am a fairly simple person and comfortable in my skin. It doesn’t take much to make me happy, nor do I seek affirmation. Professionally, I figure that a good customer service, honest communication, and solid work products result in positive word-of-mouth advertising…. and, that’s good enough for me.
I have multiple repeat clients with whom I have worked on many large, complex projects, some of which span across years. As such, I have gotten to know these clients over the years as valued human beings.
One of these special clients asked whether I could fit unexpected work into my schedule so she could meet a very tight permitting deadline. Although I have a lot going on, I rearranged my calendar, including 12-hour days, night work, and weekend hours, to deliver what was needed.
She reached out with an unsolicited act of appreciation that really made me smile. I’ve never been called a professional “Superstar” nor do I feel like one. But if that is an impression I leave with those I serve, then…. I am glad!
